Do Not Give Up On Yourself

Have you ever felt like the world’s turning its back on you, and you just want to leave everything behind? Have you ever found yourself hopelessly waiting for something to change, yet you feel helpless and trapped? Have you ever seen an opportunity that you could’ve grabbed at that moment, but let it pass you by instead?

In one way or another, we have all gone through these circumstances. We are expected to be strong, to be well-equipped, to be someone who’s completely capable of overcoming anything. We ought to be fearless, to know what we want, and to have our plans figured out in making things possible.

The reality is, things do not go our way all the time. We stumble, we struggle, we fail. And as much as we’d like to be the best version of ourselves at all times, there are certain circumstances that are begging for us to break down. But don’t consider this as a sign of weakness, rather an indication that we are capable of dealing with ourselves even in the toughest times.

No matter what road we are currently taking, I guess fighting is the very essence of our journey. If we don’t fight, we lose. If we fought and it ended differently from what we expected, we’d eventually pick ourselves back up again. We have to constantly remind ourselves that we can make it, we can do it, and we are better than what it is that bothers us at the moment. We have to believe in ourselves and in our capabilities. Self-pitying would do no good to us as it pollutes our minds, and corrupts our optimism and belief in who we are.

In the darkest times when you feel like you have already lost too much and you can’t handle anything anymore, when you feel like a failure for not being able to do the things that you want to do, when you feel like you’re alone and you’re struggling in finding who you are, DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOURSELF.

Breathe deeply, feel the moment, and remember that being positively broken is better than drowning in our own sea of pessimism.

Make use of your broken pieces to become the better version of who you are. Do not let things define you, do not let circumstances break your soul and your determination to push through. By then, you’ll learn to keep your happy thoughts flowing, and let optimism lead your life.
