For You

Hey, you!

Yes, I’m talking to you. I probably don’t know who you are and what you’re going through, but I hope you keep on reading. Because this is for you—the current you and not the you you were or wish to be.

How are you? How has life been—good, bad, wonderful, stressful, lovely, heartbreaking?

Life really seems to do that to all of us. It’s full of ups and downs, bumps and cracks on the road, and roller coaster rides. There are days you are ready to conquer the world and there are days that you just want the earth to swallow you whole. It’s okay to feel the way you do — whatever state you’re currently in.

How important do you see yourself? How much do you think you matter to the people around you? Well, let me have the privilege to remind you that you are special. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by Him—who defines you—because He created you and loves you. Your thoughts and emotions, your struggles and concerns, and your dreams and aspirations — they all matter. Your failures and your pain don’t and will never define who you are as a person.

And the people around you? They matter too. They matter—not only because they were from and loved by Him but also—because they too have thoughts and emotions, struggles and concerns, and dreams and aspirations. They need encouragement. They need support. They need love. Where else can they receive that but from you?

Your loved ones that have supported you to make it through the day or pushed you to be better have left footprints in your heart. The encouragements and wisdom that they have passed on to you became your fuel to move forward and believe in yourself. Pass it on. Pay it forward. Leave a little joy wherever you go, and leave a little piece of yourself to the people you love. Be that person that you need for yourself to the people surrounding you.
