World Indigenous Day: Weekend with the Ifugaos

Join us for the second leg of our World Indigenous Day celebration where we’ll be heading to Banaue for a special weekend with the Ifugao community. Immerse yourself in their rich culture and have the opportunity to teach them something new at the same time!

The weekend immersion will be on September 8-10, 2017 in Banaue, Ifugao and has a registration fee of Php 5,500. Fees ​will include two ​(2) days worth of activities as well as accommodations, bus transfers and lunch meals.

 

ITINERARY

September 8, Friday, 8PM ETD Manila to Banaue (Ohayami Bus Terminal, Sampaloc, Manila)

September 10, Sunday 730PM ETD Banaue to Manila

September 11, Monday 5AM ETA Manila from Banaue

Activities:

Part 1

Hike to Tam-an Village

Cultural Performances in Tam-an Village

Painting Workshop for Ifugao children

Interaction with the Ifugaos

Rice Milling and Rice Wine Making

Part 2

Cleaning up of rice paddies

Weaving Demo

Trek to Saddle Point

Free time to explore Banaue

 

There will be a registration fee of Php 5,500 and will include:

  • Dinner for September 8
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner for September 9
  • Breakfast and lunch for September 10
  • One (1) night accommodations at Batad Village Homestay
  • Roundtrip ​bus t​ransfers from Manila to Banaue

 

A portrait photography contest will also be held for participants, where winning photos will be displayed during an art exhibit ​to culminate our Caring Cup volunTour trips.
