#Brew2015 Project: Giving is Love

“So, why do you always have time to do things like this?” my friend asked me after handling her the card I made for her.

Over the weekend, I had a chance to showcase my works in a bazaar through the help of my friends. The experience was so delightful and I suddenly thought of giving back to the person who became a part of my journey. Moreover, I saw how my college friends struggled to complete their midterm requirements and study for the exams, so I thought it was the perfect time to do something special for them.

Along with the postcard freebies from Brew Your Best Year, I made simple artworks using words of encouragement to cheer my friends up and share positivity. Each card contained a unique phrase which showed how each of them are special to me.

I was hesitant to give them the card at first. It’s easy to talk and laugh with one another, but to touch the hearts of the people through the use of your talents is not a piece of cake. These things really made me happy- but what if it’s the other way around for them? I realized though that the more I faced the reality of being vulnerable, the more I believed in the power of something that is done out of love and sincerity for others.

Indeed, love has to be put into action for it to be felt. Showing how much you care about others, even through a simple gesture, can affect them in big way. At the end of the day, it’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.

“So, why do you always have time to do things like this?” my friend asked me after handling her the card I made for her.

“I don’t know, but it changes my life little by little.”
