It’s no secret, I absolutely love to dance. My dance involvements through the years include ballet in gradeschool, cheerleading in highschool, hiphop & jazz in college. I love how each step; each move was an expression of who I am and who I want to communicate across my audience.
A couple of years ago, I discovered Zumba, a Latin based dance fitness program, which opened my eyes to a lifestyle of health and wellness. Zumba is fun, it’s easy to do and it’s effective! When I started to include Zumba into my daily routine, I lost the extra weight. I felt healthier and lighter as I expolored healthy food options, eating more vegetables and less junk.
Fitness is more than just eating right and exercise, it’s communicating with your body to do something you love to benefit it. If you don’t love what you do, sooner or later you give up on it but with Zumba, I get to do something I love, express who I am and share it with everyone.
The best part about my job is that it doesn’t feel like work at all. I stopped thinking of exercise as a WORK-out and started seeing it as a lifestyle. I get to travel and see the beauty of our country when we go to different cities in the Philippines to promote a healthier, more fit and fun lifestyle. I get to see mother and daughters in classes, bonding and enjoying as they see our family dance together too. I love how we spread joy to everyone when they attend our classes, because they know that they don’t have to be amazing dancers to enjoy the class. They just need an open mind and simply enjoy every move, every step.
