I am following my father’s footsteps… I couldn’t be more proud to say these words.
My dad, Jeff, did not come from a wealthy family and had to start from humble beginnings. He serves as a leader both in the corporate world and among his siblings. I had the chance to see how my father handled tough challenges in his life without losing his composure. He was able to raise 3 children, who all looked up to him. My father was able to give us a very good life but he taught us that the things that we are enjoying now were earned through hard work and perseverance. I can attest to the generosity of my father as I have seen him provide not just for his children, but to others that are in need as well.
Back when I was in high school, I had no vision of my own as to how I wanted my life to be when I grew up. I was not driven. I failed several minor subjects and some major subjects back in college. Throughout these years, I saw my father quickly rise up the corporate ladder and I started asking him questions on how he got to where he was. I was inspired by the story of a young man who had to handle a very demanding work schedule while taking his MBA, and raising two kids with my mom.
My father’s story gave me the confidence and the drive that I needed to be the man that I am now.
I could not have asked for a better mentor nor could I have asked for a better father.
Cheers to my dad, Jeff, and to all dads out there that serve as a role model to their children.
