Mama is known by all as Ma’am Langga. A retired college professor, her lifelong lessons taught me to be better version of myself. She finished her B.S. in Chemical Engineering as a scholar and passed her board exams. Hence, when I took my college, I embraced the value of having a learning mindset. I finished as an honor roll yet failed to pass my CPA board exams. I did not give up, I took such failure as an opportunity to learn and find my true calling which I did in the career I am in as an HR-Compensation practitioner.
My mother taught more than two decades in a university in Iloilo. She went beyond teaching her students the academics. Tree planting, river clean ups, outreach programs for communities, teaching math were a few of her initiatives and actively participated by her students. This inspired me to work with passion as if everyday it is my first and last job.
It is beyond words for me to explain on how my mentor mother honed me. Continue to have both the learning and giving mindset. Let your actions do the talking. Always aim high and make it happen.
