Featured Artworks: Kat Lopez

“I downloaded Instagram 3 years ago not knowing what use it will have in my life. Little by little my account evolved from a collection of daily snapshots into a gallery of colorful, minimal and playful photos I create myself. It allowed me to discover and express the quirky creative side of me online whereas offline I’m a busy mom with grown up responsibilities. Nevertheless, creating images from ordinary everyday objects is what I love to do and everyday I push myself to come up with the next one and the next after that. Years of doing this has made me realize that creativity is not reserved just for kids. Even grown ups can still have fun and that’s what keeps us all young.”

If you wish to see my images, please visit @mskatherineq on Instagram. I’ve also attached here a collage of some of them, including one of Mr. Orlina’s works that is still haunting me until today. I dream of owning one of his masterpieces one day soon and a trip to Museo Orlina is the closest thing to having that realized.”
The entry was submitted to us by Kat Lopez for our “Brighter and brighter” contest. Visit her Instagram account @mskatherineq to see more of her images.
