On June 18, the elderly of Kanlungan ni Maria were treated to a two-part activity where they learned new hobbies they could spend their time and energy on. This celebration was a response to World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Through this event, we hoped to show love and appreciation for the elderly in our own way!
MNLGrowKits, a group of individuals passionate about the environment and urban gardening, taught the elderly of Kanlungan ni Maria how to grow their own organic plants. Afterwards, they were taught how to exercise their mind and body through the slow, rhythmic, meditative movements of Tai Chi, designed to help one find peace and be calm.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the event, and who made the day extra special for the elderly of Kanlungan ni Maria! 💜 #CaringCup
